Neymar can emulate Lionel Messi, says Brazilian legend Tostao – La Liga news
Brazilian legend Tostao has joined the never ending admirers list of Santos striker Neymar, claiming that the Brazil international is loaded with incredible talent and has the potential to match up the class of world’s best player, Lionel Messi.
The 19-year-old prodigy has been a great hit ever since he made his first team debut for the Brazilian club in March 2009. Having been praised by the likes of Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho and Brazilian great Pele, Neymar has had a remarkable 2010/11 season.
Neymar, who has been continually linked with a move away from Vila Belmiro this summer has attracted interest from some of the most elite clubs across Europe including the likes of Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid. Though it is difficult to predict his future destination, Jose Mourinho would be the happiest person should he land the highly-rated striker at Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
Tostao, who was earned a legendary status after guiding Brazil to 1970 world cup, predicted Neymar to become just like Lionel Messi in the coming years.
“Neymar has the technique and skills that only the greatest players in this world possess. I am sure that he will be of the same level as Messi within four years.” Tostao added.
The Brazilian, having recently tasted success of winning Copa Libertadores cup for his current outfit Santos, will now be hoping to do well for Brazil in the Copa America. Brazil are placed in Group B with Ecuador, Venezuela and Paraguay and will look to defend Copa America Cup having beaten arch rivals Argentina 3-0 in the final four years ago.
Jose Mourinho, who will be eyeing La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles next season, would hope that Neymar snubs any potential offer from Chelsea as he did earlier last summer. Chelsea are being tipped as favourites to lure striker away from Brazil with the Blues having lodged a reported bid of €40million.
